Birkdale Transformation

This Birkdale home received a full transformation across both the facade and main living areas. The goal was to improve street appeal and create more usable space inside all while keeping the look cohesive and classic.
We extended the entire front of the house to meet the roof line, adding a brand-new verandah that’s fully tiled and waterproofed, giving the homeowners a generous outdoor area to enjoy.

The verandah features Hampton-style balustrading and striking spotted gum posts that really lift the front of the home. Access to the house was upgraded with new stairs built in Merbau decking and matching balustrading on both sides.
A standout feature is the new mudroom entrance, added as part of the front extension. It includes a Georgian-style front door that ties in nicely with the Hampton look and gives the home a more practical, welcoming entry point.

Inside, the layout was opened up by removing a dividing wall and installing a structural beam within the roof space. This change created a large, open-plan area combining the kitchen, dining, and living zones — making the most of the home’s footprint.
The kitchen was fully reworked with a traditional style in mind, including stone benchtops, a large island, and a brand-new butler’s pantry. Flooring was carefully matched in the mudroom to maintain flow and keep the overall finish consistent with the home’s style.
